The Bostich I rented done well. It jammed once a coil and I had to put some of his nails with a hammer, This NAILER must have slipped past quality control at the Bostich. What a piece of doo. This unit is stuck Evey 10th Nails, and I was fifth with a hammer. What a shame for a product whoes company's reputation for its nail is very high. So that was when I walked the road to Hitachi. Bostitch RN46 3/4-Inch to 1-3/4-Inch Coil Roofing Nailer
I'm really surprised the first review of this gun. I had a friend buy one, it gave him problems, he exchanged the next day and his second weapon is flawless. I chalk it up to that there is a new product on the market and some of the original weapons production bugs.
Regarding my experience with it? I considered Hitachi Ultra-Light at the beginning. I had been waiting for Bostitch produce rumors "light" weapons also. Just before I went to Hitachi (which I kind of put off a while since I heard they just did'nt take a beating as their usual heavier guns did) came Bostitch finally out and I got it. After more than 20 years of ceiling, I managed to do something I have'nt done for ages. I surprised myself. I've actually sat out the shingles even faster than I normally do. I went through the coils so fast that I thought my help Was'nt give me what I needed. It is unbelievable, even for an experienced roofer, this is great just balanced so true. I had the model before this one (the RN45B-1) and still does. It's also a workhorse and bulletproof. As with any tool, keep it clean, and it will run forever.
I think this is the second lightest gun on the market (behind Hitachi) but I will give that extra pounds of weight for performance Anyday. It's fast and it stops me. It also makes it easy to place the nail in the right nailing area on the singles (some can be fast, but to be quick and place the nails where they belong differ a roofer). I had no problems with my other Bostitch, I just wanted the newest weapons in the market, and I'm glad I got it. I recommend it. In a race, I beat out four boxes with a 30-foot valley to wrestle with in 23 minutes and did'nt even realize it. It's that quick.
Despite its weight, it feels solid.
And a nice trick to define blanket, hold down and it shoots out nails like a machine gun. You drag the weapon around and felt the fire at regular intervals depending on how fast you pull a gun. In less than a second, I nail down a 6-7 linear foot line that guarantees my paper and let me get to the polishing action. Nail lockout feature saves shingles and see-thru tank battery is a must when you edit your broadband from one every few minutes or so.
I have used other weapons, and for me there is no excuse for poor performance. There is nothing more frustrating than having to stop 'hummin' just to handle a gun. When you make a living on the shingles, you must have the best. Like everything else in life, accessories to the right (in other words, only brand coil nails) and the proportion of treatment you have any problems. This gun takes skill and multiplies it.
This is for me is the best.
