The Bostich I rented done well. It jammed once a coil and I had to put some of his nails with a hammer, This NAILER must have slipped past quality control at the Bostich. What a piece of doo. This unit is stuck Evey 10th Nails, and I was fifth with a hammer. What a shame for a product whoes company's reputation for its nail is very high. So that was when I walked the road to Hitachi. Hitachi NV45AB2 7/8-Inch to 1-3/4-Inch Roofing Nailer
I am a part-time electrician and a full-time enthusiast-quality tool that does the job right the first time. I have read reviews, advice and tools to use friends or rent before you buy. And before buying Hitachi (what a fabulous roof machine), I rented and sold Bostich RN46-1.
The Bostich I rented done well. It jammed once a coil and I had to put some of his nails with a hammer, but all in all a good machine. Then it was the one I bought. This NAILER must have slipped past quality control at the Bostich. What a piece of doo. This unit is stuck Evey 10th Nails, and I was fifth with a hammer. It took what should have been a 20-hour job and turned it into a 40-hour job. What a shame for a product whoes company's reputation for its nail is very high. So that was when I walked the road to Hitachi.
I have only seen and used another Hitachi in my travels, and it was a framing gun. I was impressed with his balance, weight and performance. It was this experiance a few years ago and the reviews here on Amazon, which led me to the coil roof nailer NV45AB2.
All I can say is AWESOME! Absolutely amazing (I am a child of the 80s)! I took the gun out of the box, gave it a few drops of oil and went to town on a roof repair. I spent five full rolls of nails and not one jam or do I need to set some nails manually. AWESOME! I can not say it enough. Had I gone that route to begin with, I would have saved 20 hours on my original work and hundreds Dallara. And the price! Amazon has the best price in town ($ 385 at Home Depot and $ 325 at Lowes).
Do yourself a favor and buy Hitachi. Do not let Bostich name and market saturation get the best out of you. If you want quality and life of your tools, go with Hitachi. AWESOME!
